My Not So Deep Voice Story…
I wouldn’t call my voice feminine or weak, but it has a weird quality to it, and a darker timber would be great. It always sounded normal to me, so I never was aware of it- until I started using an online voice server.
The people (which I know were not trying to be mean, cuz they are good friends from online) said some various things about my voice…including- it sounds like I inhaled helium, I sound like I’m 4 years old (I’m 22), and I sound like a geek. Haha! This would explain why girls will come up and grind on me for ten minutes, then when I start talking, they immediately give me the face and run away.
I also notice that people with naturally deep voices have a dark growl to their voice that higher voices imitating them don’t seem to have. Will I have that quality after I complete the voice deepening course, or will I sound fake? I don’t want it to sound REALLY deep, I just want to get rid of that boyish quality it has. I am a serious tenor singer that has trained my muscles to coordinate in a way that will give me a large range. Will doing these exercises mess with the way they coordinate, and take away part of my range? This is the greatest concern for me.
